Story:
Sea Stryke opened his heavy eyes to the orange and pink vastness that surrounded him. His eyes floated between open and closed, and the coral-colored world greeted and departed him all the while. He rests his large head on the sand and looks at the world from a sideways bugs’ point of view. The discolored bright red sea blends into the coral morning sky and a maze of rouge clouds traveled the Earth. His dam called the meeting point between the sky and the sea ‘the impossible’ and lived her life trying to get closer. For as long as Sea could remember, his dam was always moving. Always gently carrying him along her shoulders, promising him the impossible. When she could travel no more, she dropped into the sea, telling him he must keep moving. He vowed that one day he would make it there- for her.
He glides over the water at dusk, hopping gracefully from wave to wave. His long elegant tail waterfalls into the water, and his mane twists in the wind. His hooves bounce off the water with the weight of a freight train, yet his powerful lope does not disturb the water of which he travels. The setting sun is his guide, and when it disappears below the horizon he rests his head on the sand and says goodnight to the coral-colored world.
The fishes are his friends and the dolphins his mentors. He gallops above them, beside them, and they gain more ground toward the impossible. He traveled the ocean all his life in hopes of restoring his dam’s own dream, and his mother’s bright eye had brought him tediously close. He did not gallop the last length, he did not dare to sleep. He never bats an eye, but still praised the creatures that had brought him this far. When the impossible was within reach, he did not gallop. He flew.
